How to Download From Your FOREVER Box Center
You did it! You took the big leap, packed up your memories, and sent them to FOREVER to be digitized by our highly trained technicians. Over the course of 2-3 weeks, they worked hard to provide the highest quality digital copy of every item you sent them. Now that all the work is done, you would like to download, view and enjoy your memories with others! But how? No worries, it’s as easy as 1-2-3. Let’s look at the steps you need to take to get those memories transferred to your personal computer.
Step 1:
Open the collapsible menu in the top right-hand corner of our web page (next to your profile picture) and click on “My FOREVER Box Center," then click on your most recently digitized order from the list of FDC numbers in the top left-hand corner of the page. Next, look for a blue “cloud icon” with “Download Memories” to the right of it (about half-way down the page on the right-hand side).
Step 2:
Click on “Download Memories.” A window will appear showing all the albums contained in your order. Click on the first one. This will begin the process of transferring a .zip file of that album to your personal computer. In most cases, your computer will automatically put this file in a folder called “Downloads” and the download will begin immediately. In some cases, your computer will ask you to choose a location for the file. In this instance, you can select “Desktop” or any other folder you prefer. Once you select a location, the download will begin. Repeat the above process for each of the albums in your order.
Step 3:
When all the downloads have been completed, you can begin to “un-zip” the .zip files. (Be patient! Large orders can take a LONG time to download! Especially those with lots of videos!) Your computer most likely came with pre-installed software for opening .zip files. To open a .zip file and extract its contents, simply double-click on it. A few moments later, the extracted album or video file from your order will appear either above or below the .zip file.
Congratulations! You can now view, share, and enjoy your memories directly from your computer!
Remember, if you have enough available storage, your memories will already have been automatically transferred from your FOREVER Box Center to your FOREVER Permanent Storage Account. If you don’t have sufficient storage, you can easily purchase the amount needed by clicking on the green “Add to Permanent Storage” button.
