The Straight Cutter has many creative options for your pages. The Shaped Edge cutter will allow you to use shapes and edges to give your pages a bit of pizzazz. **Objective**: Use the Straight Cutter > Shaped Edges to make decorative elements using edges and shapes.

### **Video Notes** **Using Edges** Insert ribbon > Shape > Rectangle

Make shape the width of the page
Remove stroke
Create

With shape selected > Cut ribbon > Straight > Shaped edge In Operations Panel

Shape > Built in kits > Edges > Choose the one you want > Select
Adjust size and rotation of the cutter (may use the handles on the page if desired)
Adjust aspect ratio and spacing of the cutter

Use the yellow handle to position the cutter toward the top of your shape In Operations Panel

Choose the area you want to keep
Cut

**Using Shapes** With shape selected > Cut ribbon > Straight > Common > Choose a shape > Select In Operations Panel > Make adjustments needed (size, rotation, aspect ratio, spacing) Position the cutter so that the bottom of the cutter is aligned with the bottom of the shape In Operations Panel

Choose the area you want to keep
Cut
Select the shape > Content Panel > Choose a paper > Drop down arrow > Fill selected shape
Copy and paste several times to create a border > right click and group
