With just two photos, you can create a visually compelling quick page layout. This video features the application of the threshold filter. Your background photo is used as an image reference/design element to the foreground photo. Video Notes:

- - Drag and drop the foreground photo on the page. The photo will be used to color sample when working on the background photo. Move it off to the side for now.
  - Add the photo that will be used as the background. Click the down arrow on the photo and select “Add photo to page in a new frame."
  - Adjust the photo to 12x12 and center it on the layout. With the photo selected, go to the Quick Access Toolbar and set the x and y axis to 0. Also, change the width and height to 12.
  - With the background photo selected, go to the Filter Ribbon > Filters section > Stylize > Threshold.
  - Adjust the threshold slider to get the desired effect. Move the slider to the left, less of the photo is visible. Move the slider to the right, more of the photo is visible. For more white space, move the slider to the left. In the video the slider is set to 80.
  - Adjust the “Low Color” of the background image to a color in the foreground photo. Click the down arrow for “Low Color”, click on “sample”. Move the eyedropper over the photo being sampled until the color is captured. Click OK. A preview is visible. Click on OK.
  - From the Elements Panel, move the background image to the bottom layer on the page. In addition, lock it in place by clicking on the lock icon.
  - Move the foreground photo onto the page.
  - Adjust the size and put the photo into position.
  - If desired, zoom into the photo and reposition the image within the frame.
  - Format the photo by adding a mat. Right click > Effects > Edit > Add an effect > Insert a frame cutout mat.
  - Adjust the mat color and width.
  - Add a title, journaling and embellishments.
  - EXTRAS: add a surface to the background photo, add a 1pt stroke to the foreground photo. Modify the text shape to fill the white space where the journaling is placed.
